Growing Pains

Spent much of the weekend (and this morning) working to upgrade yoco :: College Basketball.

The result? Didn't have time to produce a morning roundup. Sorry! By early-afternoon, however, I should have something up.

The migration away from Blogger and Blogspot should be up either tonight or tomorrow morning.

I. Can't. Wait.

Update, 12:33 PM: We're about to migrate the site -- and I can't post the morning roundup during the migration without complicating the transfer. Thanks for understanding!

"news as conversation"

Uber-blogger and Greensboro (NC) News & Record contributor Ed Cone is up with his "beginner's guide to the blogosphere." In his weekly column, Ed kindly mentioned and linked to this very blog. Woohoo.

But why would the News & Record publish a piece designed to encourage readers to explore the blogosphere?

Because the North Carolina paper is, in the words of former San Jose Mercury News columnist and "We the Media" author Dan Gillmor, "embarking on one of mainstream journalism's most important experiments: turning the paper into a community forum." Bringing blogs into the fold, the N&R is embracing citizen and open source journalism. Much to the delight of PressThink's Jay Rosen.

Background on the historic move -- to which Ed was a critical contributor -- here, here, here, here, here, and here.

A Day Off

Am taking today off.

Tomorrow should be the big day.

Feel free to use this thread to comment on today's games. I'm looking forward to Duke-Wake Forest.
